On a year-over-year basis, sales of passenger vehicles were down 11.4%, while light trucks are higher by 3.9% Of the brands still reporting monthly figures, sales of Nissan (-17.6%), Toyota (-16.5%), Honda (-14.1%) and Kia (-13.4%) were all down relative to year-ago levels. Truck and SUV sales rose 7.2% from last December to 1,165,092 units, while passenger car sales declined 10.5% to 462,389 units. Total sales for 2018 were up 0.3% from 2017 levels to 17,274,250 units.
